GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A) ESSENTIAL LEARNINGS

North Iowa students will practice good citizenship.  Good citizens:

*demonstrate responsibility and active participation in the democratic community,

*demonstrate effective use of social skills,

*shows responsibility for themselves, to others, and to the world.

 

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS GOALS

Culture Climate for Learning

Long Term Goal: North Iowa students will treat each other respectfully.

 

Annual Goal: The percent of students responding 3 or higher on question 6 of the Building Tomorrow Survey will increase.

D)  Evaluation Tool Study Committee ----- 3:40 – 4:30 ---- Tuesday, November 7 --- Elementary Media Center

I) NOVEMBER 3  is no school ---- it is a Teacher Compensation Day.

 

J)  Fantastic meetings with the Support Staff last week ----- thank you for your time and your feedback.  This is a good communications tool.   I learn more from you than you learn from me.  Thank you.

 

K) November 7 will be a mandatory training for all Special Education teachers district-wide.

The morning will be spent with Sarah Knudson.

 The training will lead up to the mandatory file review later this school year. 

This is a vitally important meeting for our entire district.

The meeting will begin at 7:15 and be finished by 10:30.

 

L) October 31 we will host the Community Club costume contest in the Commons in the early evening.

 

M) Tuesday, November 14 ---- North Iowa Conference Parenting Fair. --- “SMART  DISCIPLINE.”

P) Personal leave is dependent on the availability of  a substitute.  Plan ahead.

 

Q)   Friday, November 10 will be the dedication of the Auditorium Renovation.  The 10 minute dedication will take place prior to the start of the fall play.  Committee members will be recognized and the overall purpose will be discussed.

NOON  RECESS: 30 minutes in length

END OF THE DAY:   Thompson shuttle students dismissed at 3:25 (no sooner)departure at 3:33 ------Rural Route and town students released to go home or the playground at 3:28 (no sooner) ---- After school recess supervisors will blow the whistle to line up at 3:44 (set your watch by the atomic clocks) departure at 3:48.

 

S)  North Iowa Community School District All District—All School Reunion will take place July 8, 2007.  This is the 110th anniversary of the First Consolidation of a school district west of the Mississippi River and only the second in the nation.  If you have a name, e-mail, and/or address for an alumni member or former faculty member of Lakota, Thompson, Rake, or Buffalo Center please pass that information on to Barb Weaver.  Are you willing to serve on one of the committees?   Visit with Pam Angstman, Charlie Smith, Fairy Florence, or Barb Weaver.
