GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
A) ESSENTIAL LEARNINGS

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS
GOAL
Science
Long Term Goal: All
K-12 students will achieve at high levels in science, prepared for success
beyond high school.
Annual Goal: The
percent of students in grades 6, 8 and 11 that score at the intermediate level
or higher will increase (ITBS, ITED) or the percent of students scoring
proficient (3 or higher) will increase from fall to spring on the district
science assessment (grades 5-8 and 10).
C) You
will be asked in the next couple of weeks to administer a survey of your
students regarding respect. This is a
pre-test. The post-test survey will
take place next spring.
D) Grades 2 – 4 will have an opportunity
to meet with the Boy Scout recruiter at 1:45 on Wednesday, October 24. The meeting will take place in the
Multi-Purpose room. At 5:00 p.m. on
November 1 there will be a parent meeting in the Multi-Purpose room with the
Boy Scouts organization to explain the program.
E)There are still a few spots open to bowl on the Tuesday Youth League
after school every Tuesday at Buffalo Lanes.

F) As part of Rachel’s Challenge you each made a commitment to
contact 5 – 7 people who are very special and close to you. Have you lived up to that commitment?
G) Bullying/Harassment training
with paraprofessionals, bus drivers, cooks, custodians, and secretaries went
very well last week. Well done team.
H) Bullying/Harassment
training for middle school teachers will take place October 24 at 3:45 p.m. in
the middle school ICN room.
The training will take place for high school and elementary
teachers on October 25. We will meet in the
I) Be at the recess door to walk
your class back to your room.
Recess supervisors need to hold the students until the
teacher arrives to lead them.
J) Parent-Teacher Conferences are October 30 and
November 1 from 4:00-8:00. We want 100%
attendance. If a parent can not come to conferences please set up an
appointment for another time or at least hold the conference via the telephone.
K) Line Basics when in the hallway.
L) Bus evacuation drills this
week. Students may be a little late in
the morning for class due to the drills.
M) Thank you for supporting all
students in their co-curricular activities.
It means a great deal to the students and the co-curricular sponsors.
N) ZERO
TOLERANCE on the
playground for fighting, arguing, teasing, or rough play.
O) Character Education lessons ---- implement one
lesson every two weeks in your classroom.
Be sure to document which lessons you have used in the binder in the
SNACKS:

Ingredients
Combine all ingredients into a bowl, mix and pour into paper cups. Freeze overnight. Eat with a spoon as it begins to slightly thaw and become slush-like.
