ADDITIONAL  ITEMS:

 

•      Board Goal:  It is the goal of the North Iowa Community School District to partner with parents and community leaders/organizations to address the needs of children and parents in order to maximize every child’s abilty, regardless of age, to enter school ready to learn.

 

•      Science Achievement Goals 

Long Term Goal: All K-12 students will achieve at high levels in science, prepared for success beyond high school.

 

•  Lifetouch pictures for K-12 and staff:  Monday, September 8th – starting at 8:30 a.m. – fliers were distributed at conferences.  Please bring your flier with you that day if you want to order pictures.

 

• Next Elementary Faculty Meeting ---- Wed. September 17 --- 7:30 a.m. ---- Bring your Portfolio to share with each other ------ bring your Individual Professional Growth Plan and  your Team Professional Growth Plan.

 

• District-wide assessment begin this week.  Everyone should have received the score sheets and administration procedures last week.  Please return to Mike Evans when completed or by Oct. 10

 

•  North Iowa Conference Common Inservice Day is Wednesday, October 22.   The planning committee will meet on Monday, September 8 in the afternoon with other committee members from across the conference.

 

• September 24 and 25 we will have hearing screening for K-Prep, Kindergarten, First, Second, and Eighth grade plus all new students to the district.    Both days will begin at 8:30.

 

• If you have recess duty be consistent with the rules.   No contact football or soccer.  Walk around the entire playground ----- do not huddle at one spot and visit.  Observe all parts of the playground.  Make sure ALL the balls and jump ropes are picked up before any group is sent indoors.

 

. •  ZERO  TOLERANCE  on the playground for fighting, arguing, teasing, or rough play.

  • The schedule is filling up for the use of the new Elementary Tech Lab ------ that is so awesome.  I have witnessed some wonderful things going on in the lab.  You are doing a great job.

•  Your webpages are looking very good.   Well done.

. •  September 9 is school board election day. Take a moment to stop and vote.

. •  We are offering a pep bus to away games.   Students in middle school and high school are encouraged to sign up.

. •  Thank your for extra effort on good citizenship when students are in the hallway.   The conduct of students in the hallways often carries over to the classroom.  Thank you.

• Training for Skills Iowa (Skills Tutor) will be September 24. 

2:00 at the Middle School and 3:15 at the BC Building.

If any of the elementary teachers would like to attend the M/S secession and then work with the teachers at the middle school on the district wide assessment scoring you are welcome to do so.  Please let Mike Evans know ahead of time.

 

. •  Be sure your child abuse training is up to date.  If your certificate was 2005 or prior you will need to complete the on-line training within the next two weeks.
