ideas can be implemented but at least we are getting some good idea out on the
table and talked about.

Spicy Lamb Curry
1 onion 2
tsp. ground coriander
2 gloves garlic 1
tsp. ground cumin
3 medium tomatoes 1
tsp. turmeric
1 ½ lbs. lean,
boneless lamb 1
tsp. ground black pepper
A pinch of salt 14
oz can tomatoes
4 tbs. lemon juice 1
meat bouillon cube
4 tbs. butter 1
cup boiling water
1 tsp. chili powder 11
oz Basmati rice
Eat right away
1. Peel the onion
and cut it in half. Slice it and chop
it, then peel and crush the garlic. Cut
the tomatoes into quarters.
2. Cut the lamb
into cubes. Put it into a bowl and mix
in the salt and lemon juice. Leave it to
soak for 15 minutes.
3. Gently melt the
butter in a frying pan. Add the onion
and garlic and cook them for about 5 minutes.
Soak the rice (see below).
4. Spoon the lamb
into a large saucepan. Then, stir in the
spices, pepper, onion, garlic and both kinds of tomatoes.
5. Mix the bouillon
cube with the boiling water, then add it to the pan. Heat the curry on low heat until it bubbles.
6. Cook the curry
for 20-25 minutes. While it cooks, cook the rice (see below), so that
everything is ready at the same time.
Stir the curry every now and then.
Cooking the rice
1. To soak the
rice, fill a bowl with cold water, then add the rice. Leave it for 30 minutes, then drain it
through a sieve.
2. Meanwhile,
half-fill a pan with water, then heat it until it boils. Add the rice, then bring the water back to a
boil.
3. Turn down the
heat a little and cook the rice for as long as it says on the package. Drain it, then rinse it with boiling wate. Drain the rice
through a large sieve.
