GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A) BROAD PROGRAM GOALS

We must produce students who can adapt to change, respect others, and work cooperatively to become contributing members of society.

 

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS GOALS

Science

Long Term Goal: All K-12 students will achieve at high levels in science, prepared for success beyond high school. 

 

Annual Goal: The percent of students in grades 6, 8 and 11 that score at the intermediate level or higher will increase (ITBS, ITED) or the percent of students scoring proficient (3 or higher) will increase from fall to spring on the district science assessment (grades 5-8 and 10).

 

C)  Please give Rena copies of report cards for non-custodial parents who did not attend conferences by Tuesday morning.

 

D) In recognition of National Library Week (April 2 - 8), the K-Prep class will be walking to the        Buffalo Center Public Library on Wednesday, April 5th.  They will enjoy a quick tour of the library, a story, and a snack.

 

E)  SUPER  JOB  AT  PARENT – TEACHER  CONFERENCES.   You and our students are our best public relations.

 

F)   Parent-Teacher-Student conferences .

 Make sure we reach ALL parents.

 IF they did not make it to conference we need to make the connection over the phone or schedule an appointment.

 

G)  I appreciate being part of some of the Parent-Teacher Conferences.

 

 H) What math skills will your students  MASTER  while having you as their teacher?    “MASTER” is the key phrase.

 

I) We are in Tornado Season ----- review the procedure with students ---- WEDNESDAY  IS  A  STATEWIDE  DRILL.

 

J) “Please”  and  “Thank You”  are still important to stress in the hallways, your classroom, and even on the playground.

 

K) Criteria are the specific items which define what a benchmark is.   The descriptors describe what mastery/proficiency of the criteria looks like.  We are currently only focusing on the criteria.

L) Kindergarten Round-up is scheduled for April 20.

M) APRIL   is here.    Spring weather is knocking at the door.

N) Thursday, February 16 was a snow day with the  make-up day as Thursday, April 13. 

Monday, March 13 was a snow day and the make-up day is  Monday, April 17.
