GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A) BROAD PROGRAM GOALS

We must create a caring environment in which academic learning is a top priority and students are committed to lifelong learning.  As a community of learners and educators it is our responsibility to mold a learning environment that is centered on student needs and committed to helping every learner reach his/her greatest potential.

 

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS GOALS

Reading

Long Term Goal: All K-12 students will achieve at high levels in reading comprehension, prepared for success beyond high school.

Annual Goal: To increase percent of students in grades 3-8 and 10 scoring at or above grade level on the vocabulary subtest of the Gates MacGinitie Reading Assessment.

 

C) Thursday, February 16 was a snow day with the  make-up day as Thursday, April 13. 

Monday, March 13 was a snow day and the make-up day is  Monday, April 17.

D)  MAKE-UP  ELEMENTARY FACULTY MEETING --- Tuesday, March 21 ---- We will try this one more time --- TOPIC:  Math benchmarks --- What criteria will you use to measure student proficiency?

 

E) March 23 we will host a Math Make-and-Take for parents of students in preschool through grade 4 ----- 6:00-8:00 ---- Commons. This will be a great event for all parents.

 

 F) The students and staff involved in the musical have worked very hard on the “THE MUSIC MAN.”    Please consider supporting them in their efforts.

 

G) “Please”  and  “Thank You”  are still important to stress in the hallways, your classroom, and even on the playground.

 

H) What does rigor mean to our curriculum?
