A) BROAD PROGRAM GOALS
We must help students
understand and acquire the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and values necessary
to participate in a democratic society.
B) ANNUAL PROGRESS
GOAL
Math
Long Term Goal: All
K-12 students will achieve at high levels in mathematics, prepared for success
beyond high school.
Annual Goal: The
percent of students scoring proficient (70%) on the district Computation Test
(grades 2-8) and the district Algebra Test (grade 10) will increase using
two-year averaging..
C)Faculty Forum ---- March 12 ---- 4:00-5:00 p.m.----- HS Media Center
--- this is a chance for some professional dialogue around issues which impact
us as educators. This is a voluntary activity.
D) Next elementary faculty
meeting is March 13 in the

Seuss Week was fun. I hope all the
students enjoyed the emphasis on reading.
I loved reading to the Kindergarten-Prep.

parents, students, employees and the public regarding weather announcements.
O)Lonely Frog
A lonely
frog telephoned the Psychic Hotline and asked what his future holds.
His personal psychic advisor tells him: "You are going to meet a beautiful
young girl who will want to know everything about you."
The frog is delighted with this news,
"This is great! Will I meet her at a party?" he croaks.
"No," says the psychic, "..in biology
class."
Pasta with Tomatoes
For the sauce: For
the pasta:
1 ˝ lbs ripe tomatoes a
pinch of salt
2 cloves garlic, crushed 1
tbs. olive oil
1 tbs. olive oil 12
oz. dried pasta shapes
A pinch of sugar
˝ tsp. dried oregano or Italian
seasoning Eat right
away.
A pinch of salt & ground
black pepper
12 basil leaves, ripped into
small pieces
1. Cut a cross into the bottom
of each tomato. Put them into a
heatproof bowl, then fill a second bowl with cold
water.
2. Cover the tomatoes with
boiling water. Leave them in the bowl
for 2 minutes, then lift them out with a slotted
spoon.
3. Put the tomatoes into the
cold water for 2 minutes. Lift them out,
peel off their skins, then cut them into quarters.
4. Scoop out the seeds with a
teaspoon. Then carefully cut out the
core and cut all the quarters into small pieces.
5. For the sauce, put the
tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, sugar, seasoning, salt and pepper into a
saucepan. Heat it for 2 minutes.
6. Cover the pan with a lid, then turn down the heat.
Cook the sauce on low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring it often.
7. Half-fill a pan with
water. Add a pinch of salt and a
tablespoon of olive oil. Boil the water,
then add the pasta and stir it. Cook the
pasta while the sauce cooks.
8. Boil the water again, then reduce the heat, so that it is bubbling gently. Cook the pasta for as long as it says on the
package. Stir the sauce while the pasta cooks.
9. Drain the pasta in a
colander. Then, stir the ripped basil
into the sauce. Spoon the pasta and
sauce into bowls.
