GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
A) BROAD PROGRAM GOALS
We must provide
students with an understanding of the global nature of society, the
interdependence of the world’s people, and their effect on the world’s people,
and their effect on the world’s environment.

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS
GOALS
Long Term Goal: All
K-12 students will achieve at high levels in reading comprehension, prepared
for success beyond high school.
Annual Goal: To
increase percent of students in grades 3-8 and 10 scoring at or above grade
level on the vocabulary subtest of the Gates MacGinitie
Reading Assessment.
C) Congratulations to
Ashley Huntington, Jack Ralls, Lexis Julsrud-Wertjes
who all made it to State for Invent
D) “Let your
emotion and love for teaching show on your face and come across in your words. ”
E) March 5 and
March 6 we will be hosting several individuals from the AEA in a Special
Education Compliance Review. This is a
preliminary review as we prepare for our state accreditation visit next
year. This is a busy couple of days and
I appreciate all those who will be interviewed and will be pulled away from
their normal routine. This
is a good way to “dipstick” and see how well we are doing. We have a great deal to be proud of BUT we can always improve and having eyes from
the outside work with us will help us identify areas we can improve.
F) MAKE – UP
DAYS:
November 10 was made-up on February 16.
January 15 will be made-up on April 5.
March 1 will be made-up on April 9.
March 2 will be made-up on May 29.
G) Musical practice is going fast and
furious. This will be a wonderful
experience for a large number of our students and their co-curricular sponsors.
H) Our “DINNER WITH
DAD” meeting with parents this
past week was wonderful. Super attendance and super enthusiasm. I am very proud of these fathers and their
commitment.

North Iowa Elementary Winter Olympic planning continues.
O) Thursday, March 15 we will host a Transition
Night for middle school and high school students and parents who have IEPs.

Elementary Faculty meeting is Tuesday, March 13. We will meet in the

R) BOOK STUDY FORMAT: 10-15 minutes of team-led discussion regarding the chapter followed by an activity which challenges us to implement something learned in that portion of the book. Each elementary faculty member will share their implementation.
Every faculty member will take part in the book study.
Those
taking the book study for credit will have extra things to complete.
