GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A) BOARD GOALS

It is the goal of the North Iowa Community School District to encourage maximum community involvement in all district activities/decisions and as a result developing a pride in ownership by all community members and all patrons of the district.

 

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS GOALS

Science

Long Term Goal: All K-12 students will achieve at high levels in science, prepared for success beyond high school..

Annual Goal: The percent of students in grades 6, 8 and 11 that score at the intermediate level or higher will increase (ITBS, ITED) or the percent of students scoring proficient (3 or higher) will increase from fall to spring on the district science assessment (grades 5-8 and 10).

 

C) Thursday, February 16 was a snow day.   The make-up day is Thursday, April 13.  Mark your calendar.

 

D)  MAKE-UP  ELEMENTARY FACULTY MEETING --- Thursday, March 9 ---- We will try this one more time --- TOPIC:  Math benchmarks --- What criteria will you use to measure student proficiency?

 F) Support Staff Evaluation are going very well and should be complete in the next couple of weeks.

“My Dad was cleaning out my grandmother's house and he brought me an old Royal Crown Cola bottle. In the bottle top was a stopper with a bunch of holes in it. I knew immediately  what it was, but my daughter had no idea.  She thought they had  tried to make it a salt shaker or something.  I knew it as the bottle that sat on the end of the ironing board to  "sprinkle" clothes with because we didn't have steam irons.
