GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
A) BROAD PROGRAM GOALS
We must produce
students who can adapt to change, respect others, and work cooperatively to
become contributing members of society.
B) ANNUAL PROGRESS
GOAL
Long Term Goal: All
K-12 students will achieve at high levels in reading comprehension, prepared
for success beyond high school.
Annual Goal: To
increase percent of students in grades 3-8 and 10 scoring at or above grade
level on the vocabulary subtest of the Gates MacGinitie
Reading Assessment.
C) Next elementary faculty meeting

Pasta Salad
For Salad: For
Dressing:
10 oz dried or 12 oz fresh farfalle (bow pasta) 1
cup mayonnaise
˝ lb. thin green beans 4
tbs. lemon juice
9 oz can of tuna a
pinch of salt and of ground black pepper
10 cherry tomatoes 4
fresh chives
Store in the refrigerator and
eat on the day you make it.
1. Half-fill a large saucepan
with water. Heat it until it boils, then
add the pasta and stir it with a wooden spoon.
2. Cook the pasta for as long
as it says on the package. Drain it
through a colander, then pour it back into the pan to
cool.
3. Mix a little butter into the
pasta. Snip the ends off the beans and
cut them in half. Then, half-fill a pan
with water.
4. Boil the water, then add the beans.
Cook the beans for 5 minutes, then drain
them. Rinse them with cold water.
5. Open the can of tuna and
drain it through a sieve. Put the tuna
on a saucer and use a fork to break it up a little.
6. Cut the tomatoes in
half. Then, put them into a large bowl
with the pasta, beans and tuna. Mix
everything well.
7. For the dressing, put the mayonnaise,
lemon juice, salt and pepper into a bowl.
Mix everything together with a fork.
8. Pour the dressing over the
pasta mixture. Use a fork to toss the
mixture in the dressing so all of the pieces are covered.
9. Cut the chives into tiny
pieces, then scatter them over the salad. Serve the salad right away or put it into the
refrigerator.
