GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A) BOARD GOALS

It is the goal of the North Iowa Community School District to expect all district employees and elected officials to reflect fiscal responsibility and long-term fiscal planning.

 

B) ANNUAL PROGRESS GOALS

Math

Long Term Goal: All K-12 students will achieve at high levels in mathematics, prepared for success byond high school.

Annual Goal: The percent of students scoring proficient (70%) on the district Computation Test (grades 2-8) and the district Algebra Test (grade 10) will increase using two-year averaging.

 

C) Marlys Ebaugh will be here 2-28-06 for hearing followup.  She will call students out of class as                   needed.  If you have someone that you would like screened, please let me know by Friday, 2-24-    06.

She will be at BC around 9 or 9:30 am and then travel to Thompson.  Thanks, Deb

F)  Outstanding meeting with the clergy last week.  Your students were great hosts and were very open and respectful of the clergy as they ate lunch with them.

 

G)  Support Staff Evaluation are going very well and should be complete in the next couple of weeks.

J) The Kindergarten Circus has come and gone.    A huge THANK YOU to our Kindergarten teachers and staff that worked so hard to make the day so successful.   It is a ton of work to set up and rehearse and finally to clean up after all the animal acts ??!?!?!?

 

K) “Please”  and  “Thank You”  are still important to stress in the hallways, your classroom, and even on the playground.

 

L) March 17 ---- the end of the third quarter.  

 

M) Wellness Committee meeting is MARCH 2 at 6:00 p.m. in the HS Media Center.

 

N) ELECTRONIC  GRADE  BOOK  COMMITTEE:  Connie Brooks, Allen Twait, Sue Sime, Louise Hagedorn.   Our remaining meetings will be  MARCH 20.  We have tabled any further work until we get a good handle on benchmarks and defining mastery.
